Talking about what is business casual. What does it mean when you dream about a monster chasing you in business. Often in life, we come across monsters that block our way.
Monster can come in diverse ways. Depending on how we define our monster, but certainly, many people have faced one monster or the other in the journey of their life. I don’t know how you battled the monster you encountered.
But here, I will share with you what to do when a monster blocks your path. when you examine meticulously, the answers will come.
These ‘monsters’ can be in the form of different obstacles and challenges.
These may include;
- Tragedies like the death of a lover.
- Traumatic events
- Failures in your personal or professional life
- Bad habits or addictions.
For instance, my grandfather had a bad drinking habit; he couldn’t secure a job and abused his wife from time to time.
For this reason, my father quit school at twelve and switched to doing odd jobs for the neighbors in the tenement building where the family lived.
By so doing, he could afford the household bills and keep a watchful eye on his dad’s habits.
When he left home to join the force in WWII, his mother was already dead, and his father followed her shortly.
What To Do When a Monster Blocks Your Path
He was not very great at telling stories. For some reason, story-telling felt perky in life as challenging as the one he has known.
His reputation in our neighborhood was built on his energy and self-sacrifice to uplift others.
When I was a kid, he worked the night shift in a factory but still did odd jobs for neighbors during the daytime and on weekends. Working for people was ingrained in him.
Perhaps, he learned it in his formative years when other kids his age were trying to solve algebraic equations.
My father had one story, and I took it very seriously as it was the only one from his childhood.
One of the jobs he did at the apartments where he grew up was carrying the trash in and out for the neighbors.
He had a lot of “clients,” and for some reason, the depository for the trash was a bit far from the tenements where they lived; he usually finished after dark.
What is business casual: You need courage to face it
The landlord was not one to replace light bulbs. For this reason, my father had to find his way back through his building with just the light rays that peeped out from beneath other occupants’ doors.
The moment he reached his floor, there was this very long and dark corridor that he had to walk through.
It was “L” in shape. This corridor took him all along the south side and around the corner to the east side of the building.
In that dark junction between south and east, there lived a monster that blocked his path home in that corner.
What is business casual: Running from our monsters
Although it was very dark in that corner, my father’s pace was slow to the point that he could gather information about the monster’s description.
He knew that one of his eyeballs dangled. The monster had open wounds all over his face and torso, and from these wounds gushed out some thick demonic goo in the place of blood is a fluid in the circulatory system of humans.
His expression was more than just fierce, and to worsen the entire situation, he had a dagger in one hand, raised over his right shoulder.
As soon as my father reached a striking distance, he broke into a sprint and didn’t look back for any reason.
When he reached his apartment, he was too far away to see the monster anymore. The only thing left was a dark corner, just like any other.
What is business casual: Trust yourself
There was no way to tell if the monster had struck out at him at some point and missed or if he was waiting for a particular time to unleash his evil intentions. The whole thing continued for a long time.
The situation wasn’t something a tough kid from a tough area could think of telling other boys about.
Of course, it wasn’t something the boy could tell his father, who would have thought it was a mere excuse to get lazy.
And at the same time, he dares not tell his mother about it so as not to get her worried as her life was already too sad. So, he faced it all by himself.
My father collected and deposited trash every evening, and he faced the monster every night while coming home.
He was a big strong boy, never afraid of anything but the sight of the monster was enough to bring him to tremble.
One day he realized that the monster would never go away if he didn’t find a way to resolve his fear.
Face your fears and the monsters that block you. So, my father made the decision to poke the monster right in the stomach that night.
He decided to reach out and touch the monster. Let the story end If the monster grabs and kills him. It was a better plan than running night after night, living in fear.
My father always told me that reaching out to touch the monster was the most challenging thing he had ever done.
What is business casual: You are not without challenge
Putting into account the long list of hardships that troubled him throughout his life, we can see how hard it was to make that decision from this statement.
He started down the south hall, moving with a slow pace as always.
He and the monster looked at each other, the monster with the dagger held high over his right shoulder, all set to plunge.
When my father got to where he usually took to his heels, he did something different; he closed his eyes tight and shot and stretched his arm out in front of him.
And to his utmost surprise, his hand went right through the space where the monster had been just seconds ago, and he touched the wall.
The monster was gone, and he never reappeared ever again. I told this story to my two sons when they were tender.
And just as it might appear as a simple story, they both testified it made it easier for them to do what they were supposed to do when faced with situations that frightened them.
I’ve had to go beyond my fears and touch the monster blocking my path a couple of times over the course of my experience in life.
